Arts Week 2018

This week (Monday 22nd-Thursday 25th October) the whole school have taken part in Arts Week.  The theme for this week has been, 'Multi-Cultural Art'.  Each class has been busy researching, planning, designing and making 2 pieces of artwork to display in the cloakroom area.  We will have African art, Japanese, Islamic and Colombian Art.  We can't wait to show you our work when it goes on display.

Alongside these projects, the children have been split into their houses to work together to learn about and create work in further cultures.  Mr Bradford has led the children in making Mexican food, Mrs Dodd has helped the children to create Aboriginal paintings, Mr McDonagh has taught the children how to do Tai Chi and Mr Tranmer has led the children in learning about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, through making clay Diva lamps.

House group projects (Making Mexican food, Tai Chi, making clay Diva lamps and painting Aboriginal artwork).

Class artwork (Kenyan art in pastel and charcoal by Class 1, Japanese art in watercolour paints by Class 2, Islamic art by Class 3 and Colombian art by Class 4).
