FOES or the Friends of Eckington School
| We have an active, vibrant Parent Teacher Association, full details of which can be found by contacting the chairman Mrs Teresa Crowley via the school office. FOES is a registered charity, with two simple aims:
F.O.E.S. is a “hands on” organisation, raising funds through a wide variety of events and activities but also hold non-fund raising events more directly for the benefit of the children. All parents/carers are automatically members of FOES, and are invited to support the charity. The FOES committee members are parents/carers, community/volunteers and school staff.
In previous years F.O.E.S. have provided substantial funding towards the improvement of the grounds, including willow structures, new play surface and play markings, picnic benches, play shelters and nesting boxes, new musical instruments, sensory garden, computers, library books, PE equipment and whole school workshops. We are extremely grateful for their ongoing support of our school.
Yet again, we have to say a massive thank you to our Friends of Eckington School (FOEs). They organised a fantastic family orientated fun run for the children to take part in and raise money. I was so impressed with the effort, commitment and participation from all involved. What amazing families we have in this village community!
The children selected to run in either a 1km, 2.5km or 4km run. Every child put in 100% effort and completed an exciting afternoon of running. Everyone cheered each other on and there were medals for all the completed the event.
Thank you to ALL of our families and to ALL of the FOEs committee for the hard work and continued support. A big thank you must go to Mrs Crowley and Mrs Leighfield for leading the event. Mr Leighfield for running the course with the children helping them along.
Thank you to our lovely FOEs for a wonderful and exciting end to the spring term with the brilliantly organised Easter bingo.
