Hello and welcome back to week 5 of summer 2 home learning. Wow, we are doing so well with our home learning and we are already at week 5! I am super impressed with your efforts and hard work. I have seen some great work from some of you. Please keep sending me photos and examples of your learning.
English. This week you are going to be looking at adventure story writing, as well as comprehension skills and some SPAG focus within the unit.
Spellings. Adverbials of frequency. Your 10 words are below. Learn them over the week and ask your lovely parents to test you later in the week. I have added a link to loads of activities to support you with learning the words.

Reading comprehension tasks. This week I have added a set of tasks linked to a historical story called, Roman Rescue part 2.
Maths. This week we are exploring charts and line graphs. Access the video links at the start of each lesson, watch and listen to the teacher explaining the method. Complete the worksheet and go through the answers with your parents.
Science: This week I would like you to have LOADS of fun with these exciting science and engineering challenges from the engineers at Dyson (the hoover people!)
During the week I would like you to have a go at 1 science challenge and 1 of the engineering challenges. They are lots of fun. I have been having at go at some of them with my children at home. I would also like you to use the sheets below to write up your investigations. Please send me lots of pictures of your investigating. Enjoy!
Topic: This week I would like you to explore key physical and human geographical features of your country. Once you have found out some of the key features, I would like you to record them in a way that you like. You may produce a poster, a booklet, a PowerPoint, a film.
Physical geographical features include: climate zones, biomes and vegetation belts, rivers,
mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes, and the water cycle.
Human geographical features include: types of settlement and land use, economic activity
including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy,
food, minerals and water.

French: Bonjour! I have heard lots of you are trying really hard with your French learning. Très bon. This week I would like you to learn names of shops and buildings in the town. There is a video to watch and 2 games to have a go at.
RE. What Jesus did to save people? Part 4. This week I would like you to think about the story of David and Goliath. This story is from the Old Testament of the Bible, in the book of Samuel. Think about how the story relates to what Jesus taught us in the New Testament and can you see how it relates to our lives today? Talk with your parents about the story.
