The Eco-Council’s role in school focuses on helping us to be more aware of our impact on the environment. We help the school to look after our world, for example, by using less energy and reducing and recycling waste. We regularly meet with Mr McDonagh to discuss ideas about how to make our school more Eco friendly and plan our projects. We have achieved the Bronze Eco Award and are now working towards achieving the Silver Award.
We enjoyed our first meeting together to look at our priorities for the year. We will continue the class recycling that was started by last year's Eco Council, which will be making sure that classes are recycling paper. This year we have decided to focus on single use plastic. This has a huge impact on our planet and we think that local changes can contribute to global changes. Check back regularly to see updates about our progress.
