Our 2018/19 Eco Council
The Eco-Council’s role in school focuses on helping us to be more aware of our impact on the environment. We help the school to look after our world, for example, by using less energy and reducing and recycling waste. We regularly meet with Mr McDonagh to discuss ideas about how to make our school more Eco friendly and plan our projects. We have achieved the Bronze Eco Award and are now working towards achieving the Silver Award.
A focus on Recycling
At our first meeting this year, Eco Council completed a walk around school to decide on areas to focus on this year. Our focus for the first term is recycling (particularly paper in classrooms). We noticed that many classrooms didn't have an area to recycle paper. To improve this, we have introduced recycle bins in each classroom and in Mrs Gower and Mrs Smiles' office. We will be keeping track of this on our Eco board! Keep your eye on which class has gone green!
Our 2017/18 Eco Council
Envirosort- November 2017
Eco Council enjoyed a trip to Envirosort in Norton, Worcester to learn more about recycling and how we can improve that in school. We have decided to launch a recycling poster competition to run in school. Check back to see what posters won!
We thoroughly enjoyed visiting our local church and cleaning up any litter we found in the church yard, afterwards we came back to school to clean up our school grounds.
