June 2018 Questionnaire Results

June 2018

Thank you to all of our parents and carers who returned their questionnaire feedback. We really value your comments and, as you know, we consider your suggestions very carefully when reviewing our school systems and policies. Leadership again had a positive response. The co-headship is in place as it is a legal requirement to have a named head teacher for each day of the week, as Mrs Roberts works 4 days, that required us to appoint a head teacher for 1 day a week. Mrs Dodd has filled this role extremely successfully. We were really pleased that communication is rated so highly. Teachers, leaders and office staff work very hard to ensure families are kept up to date with events in school, e-safety information and gain an insight into school life through the newsletter, website and app. Behaviour was also rated highly.

After the feedback in November’s questionnaires, the staff, particularly Mr McDonagh, have worked with other local schools to improve the opportunities for competitive sport – this has been recognised in your positive comments and we intend to continue to develop this area next year. November’s feedback also indicated parents wanted more guidance and support with mental maths at home. This led to the launch of mathletics and the well received, parents’ maths workshops in January. These actions have resulted in 74% of parents now saying agree/strongly agree for this area (in November it was 53%). Again, this will be continued into next academic year. You were also more positive about homework this time, although we acknowledge that there is more work to do regarding reading books for lower key stage 2 to support the children at home. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at any time with other ideas or suggestions to support our school.
